So Far So Good
After my trip to India, my life gave a complete U-turn. I knew this was going to happen and I’m glad it’s happened. We Don't Know Where to Stay
I have been spending the afternoon trying to decide on which Hong Kong hotels we will stay in when we go there next month. There are tons of things that we want to do in Hong Kong and we are getting really excited about our trip. I always have a hard time deciding where to stay when we visit a foreign country. Since I have never been to these places it is hard to know which part of town we want to stay in. Online I have been doing lots of reading about the city and think I have a good idea of a central location for us to stay in. Need a Short Term Place to Stay in the Netherlands
I am going to be sent over to Rotterdam for an indeterminate time by the company which I work for. One of our more important customers is installing one of our automated warehousing systems and I am going to be sent along to make sure it is properly installed and there are no problems. It should take between a month and 2 months to get the job finished and in the meanwhile I shall need some Rotterdam Accommodation. I would prefer if it was near the port of Rotterdam as that is where I shall be working and I will probably not go through the trouble of getting a driver’s license over there. Hard to imagine what the dmv must be like if you do not speak the language. Actually my friend says the Dutch speak three languages I do not speak. I guess the company will pay the bill as they always have in the past.

We always take a family vacation every year. This year we decided to go to las vegas because I like to gamble and the kids can go watch the shows and hang out in the hotel. Since I was bringing my kids, I needed to find Las Vegas hotels for kids. Many of the hotels did not cater to kids. The hotels that I wanted to find must have arcades, a pool, and an amusement park. There were a few hotels that matched this description. The Circus Circus hotel had all of these. In fact they probably had the biggest amusement park. The only thing about that hotel was that it seemed a bit dated. I also liked the New York New York hotel because it had a roller coaster as well as an arcade. The Excalibur looked neat too because it looked like a castle. I think my kids would dig that.

Guide to a Ryokan a Japanese Inn
One of the many places I loved to visit while I was in Japan was a Japanese inn called a Ryokan. This kind of inn is a very different experience from our western inns or hotels. They originally started around the Edo period which I think was 1603 to 1868. They are quite rare within Tokyo but you will be able to find many outside of Tokyo. I would highly advise you at least learn the basics of the Japanese language, such as saying hello in Japanese, before you attempt to visit a Ryokan.
The reason why is they are quite a traditional type of inn and you really would benefit from joining in with the experience, not just some foreigner who could not be bothered to learn some of the Japanese language!
The way it works is you have a traditional Japanese room with a Tatami mat on the floor, normally with a low table. The doors are also of a traditional Japanese design, so they slide from side to side.
Once you are settled in, they will start your feast! The meal is normally made up of many (and I mean many!) small courses. Each of the courses has a very different flavor and style of cooking.
The meal is certainly a wonderful experience.
As well as the meal, they often have a traditional Japanese spring, called an Onsen. The waters in an Onsen are normally directly from a volcanic source, so they are extremely good for you as they contain some great minerals.
